Claude Change My View: AI-Assisted Critical Thinking
A Claude Space for challenging your own beliefs through structured AI-assisted counterargument, inspired by the r/ChangeMyView subreddit.
The Project

danielrosehill/Claude-Change-My-View View on GitHubThe subreddit r/ChangeMyView is built on a simple but powerful premise: state a strongly-held opinion and invite others to challenge it. The process forces you to articulate your reasoning clearly enough for others to engage with it, and subjects your thinking to scrutiny you might never apply on your own. This Claude Space brings that same dynamic into a private, AI-assisted workspace.
How It Works
The workflow is straightforward. You write detailed expositions of your viewpoints in the my-hot-takes/ folder. Then you run the /change-my-view slash command, and Claude delivers a critical analysis with counterarguments and alternative perspectives. The outcomes are recorded in challenges-results/, documenting whether your view shifted, strengthened, or became more nuanced.
Intellectual Humility as a Practice
What makes this workspace interesting is its philosophical stance. The README is explicit that this is not about "winning" arguments. It is about testing the strength of your convictions, discovering weaknesses in your reasoning, understanding opposing viewpoints more deeply, and growing through intellectual humility. Even when you remain unconvinced, you emerge with a more nuanced understanding of the topic.
The version-controlled nature of the workspace means you build up a record of your intellectual evolution over time. You can look back at beliefs you once held strongly and see how your thinking changed, or did not change, through structured engagement with counterarguments.
It is one of the more unusual applications of the Claude Space pattern, and one of the most personally useful.
